After finishing my ” Feeling good, looking sweet ” project ( the positive messages for a harsh, negative society ) here is what I’ve done the other day. People are actually very nice ! It was a mission to put a sticker in the station thou …

The feedback was much much better than we actually expected ! We both came to the conclusion that actually would be better to have the cover inside of an actual Vinyl sleeve. here is the final result with the actual layout and paper.

Recycled paper always works. Besides, we wanted that dirty, rough fanzine like look.

The size of the whole thing needed to go down to 18 x 18 for the layout and 18,5 x 18,5 cm for the cover so that could find the actual Vinyl sleeve, it was a big job to work on the layout but hey, we’re happy with the final results !!

Here is everything ready for the last presentation with Val !

After focusing only on the cover ( there’s something about covers ) we’ve decided to take a look at different kinds of packaging speacially Vinyl, how back in the 70’s the graphics and Vinyls were displayed.

Lauren as she’s the master of packaging got it down perfect : have a peek with the cover/packaging combination :

we’ve also thought it woulb be fun to have some porn stickers in it …

after researching ………..

After Val’s feedback, me and Lauren came to the conclusion that the cover wouldn’t work in pink and it would limit the concept as the illustration seemed like somekind of japanese porn ( which I found quite flattering ).

Part from the cover, the feedback on the page layout was quite good ! Just need to explore sizes now and improve the text.

Let’s get some work done. ( this was what happened after mine and Lauren brainstorm today )

Lauren, which I’m working with in this project, printed the layout in Newspaper print. We both came to the conclusion, after brainstorming yesterday, that could look cool and would add that dirty, rough, old school fanzine like aspect to the project. So far, so good.

Focusing mainly on Porn Magazines and newspapers from the juicy eras - 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s, the reasearch made was good and had productive results. Picked up 2 bold fonts for Headlines and quotes, bearing in mind the reader’s side but also the 60’s/70’s Design which reflected the culture - experimenting text by exploring the visual contrast and shapes in general.

You should check 60’s and 70’s porn magazines, they’re a great source of inspiration.

Recent Illustration for new project with Val Palmer.
This project is about making a layout for NUDE MAG ( nudemagazine.co.uk ) by inserting a text about a review of the soundtrack of the classic underground 1960s film, ‘Primitive London’ by CSM tutor and Nude contributor, Ken Hollings. The idea is to bring back the 60’s revolutionary London, sex, drugs, chaos and Rock & Roll ! Here is one of the illustrations I’ve worked on :
